Inspiring the Hero’s of Education

A Teacher’s Conference in Cape Town, Photographed by Anita Reed

On March 24th, Earth Child Project held their 3rd annual Teachers Wellness Convention (Teacher’s Conference) at Observatory Community Centre in Cape Town. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Earth Child Project is a nonprofit organisation that provides health and environmental education at schools in underprivileged communities. Through yoga classes, nature hikes, and gardening and farming programs, the charity inspires hundreds of children each year. The day of Teacher’s Conference was filled with workshops and facilitated sessions to educate and inspire the unsung heroes of the education world. Over 300 school teachers from various under-resourced communities in Cape Town were invited to share and learn during this inspiring event; there were sessions throughout the day on health-related issues such as yoga, dance meditation, and healthy eating. Photographer Anita Reed was kind enough to volunteer her time to document the workshop, and a few selections of her work are below.
